I have 1 week to get the new implementation of the site up and running before our current hosting account expires.
So, just in case I don't have time to get it completely finished by then, I'd like to hear what features you'd like to see implemented first and which you could do without for another week or so.
Surely the forums and front page blog are in the top list. What else? Schematics? Bands? Articles?
Also, any comments on the general format/layout of the site would be great. Is it easy enough to find what you're looking for on the site? Do you wish it was organized differently?
Your opinions will be a huge help! Thanks in advance!

Jason, I think you are on the right track ... getting the forums and announcements going.
The educational info is very valuable, too.
And don't forget those google links. Gotta help pay the bills! :)
Thank you for all your work and dedication.

Then port as is and do incremental upgrades for 2.0? The biggest issues we had was with thrid party COM.
Hopefully all the old stuff would work, but hey you work for them testing this poop, so I don't have to tell you the unexpected is sure to happen on a new platform.

Although an April trick javascript tag caught me and made me laugh, but it also reminds me that being able to hide any URL behind a link tag with user defined text is a security risk.
Sorry, I'm at work now and have my developer hat on. Maybe there should *not* be an option to put your own text on a link but rather only display the actual target URL when formatting it into a hyper link?

Understood and appreciated, but the real downside is a virus or other malicious link. Any internet surfer should have antivirus protection anyway, it only takes one unprotected click. Just a thought; You always have to reconcile security and usability in any project, they are never one-to-one concerns.

I'm glad you brought that up. I've been wrestling with the choice myself. Having on the URL would actually simplify the code a bit.
I can also implement "graduated" features - e.g. you only get to do things like text in a URL after you've had 200 posts or something.
