Uncle Howie - technique

I love the epoch sound that Howard Mossman taps into. Is he of the Hoffman school? Aerial fingering? Thanks.

With the little I know from him, like most of us Howard developed his own technique for playing the theremin.

I agree he's got an amazing sound and his playing always has a great sense of feeling.
Howard Mossman is one of the longest standing members of the theremin community.

I was privilieged to spend some time with Uncle Howie and watch him play. His stance is very close to the "tai chi" stance advocated by Peter Pringle and others. While playing, his body occasionally moves to or from the instrument. His pitch hand remains fluid, using motions mostly from the elbow and wrist as opposed to moving his entire arm.

He's wonderfully graceful. And he's also very modest. I find the "voice" he gives the theremin to be very distinctive and his playing beautifully fluid and expressive.
