Hello readers,
I've had a problem with availability of the Bourns Inductors for the EM Theremin. They are no longer in stock at Newark or Farnell, and I can't find them any where else. Considering that I can't get the other TOKO inductors with a high enough Q factor, and now I don't have access to the Bourns Choke inductors, does it sound reasonable to try a different schematic with more readily available parts? Or, is there a decent enough tolerance for replacement inductors so that I could find substitute parts and still have the EM Theremin function?
I've looked at the schematics from Theremin World, but I don't know which one would be good for me to build with parts that are still in circulation.
I'd like a theremin with a pitch and volume control antenna. What are some of the schematics out there that have both volume and pitch control and parts that I can currently purchase?
I've looked a little at Art Harrison's 145 theremin. Is this theremin a realistic possibility? I'd like my theremin to have the traditional antennas, not plates. I know that that the 145 theremin can be changed to use traditional antennas, but how is the performance if I were to use the traditional antennas?
Thanks,
Dan
