volume antennae squeal - big problem?

I was just searching the forums for mentions of squealing volume antennae, and found a member stating that it indicates a "big problem." Well, my newly built, otherwise beautifully functioning etherwave standard kit theremin squeals indeed when I touch the volume antennae. Why? How do I fix it? How big a big problem is this?

Hi, you may have allready found it, but check out my fix for unintended sounds when touching the volume antenna over in the theremin construction forum. It's a simpl, cheap, and quck fix with an added cool effect. It involves sleeving the antenna.
