This was so funny and so delightful to watch. I've seem them on ebay for sale but have never actually known what they sound like until now. I also enjoyed the most recent comment left by "bbalmodovar"- he must not be familiar with the Theremin. LOL!

I think they were playing the first one in E *flat* minor by mistake. . . . . The Song of Mable is much better because the notes aren't held as long, and all the players have clearly practiced it a lot more.

I saw the Mable ensemble in London last year. They were awesome!

Well, I contacted Mr. Masami Takeuchi about purchasing a Matryomin. He told me that he does not ship over seas but in 2008 when the new model comes out, the Matryomins will ship to the U.S. He was just here at the NAMM show (left this morning actually) planning for his Matryomin exhibition next year. He was REALLY NICE. I can't wait until I can buy a Matryomin!

Maybe I should travel to Japan and bring one back with me. That way I won't have to wait a whole year. :)

Oh and he also said that when he comes back in 2008 for NAMM that "Mable" is going to perform live here in Los Angeles! YAY! I can't wait for that either! I’m going to ask him if he can also have a workshop. He plays beautifully and has such a regal presence.

In case you haven’t seem him perform, he is a video:

the matryomin is really an excellent instrument. I had to ask a friend visiting Japan to purchase one for me. I love it since...
Find someone in Japan to get you one.

I know I thought about that last night and have asked everyone I know if they know someone who can get one for me. I gotta keep searching and hopefully I can get one much sooner than later.

How long have you been playing yours? Is it more, less, of about the same as playing theremin?

Nice profile pic by the way... although I have to admit it makes me just a tad jealous of you. :)
