Theremin Historian

Hi i'm looking for anyone who knows the story of how the theremin came about.
This would be for my final project at uni and also for Resonance FM (London) as the programming director is very keen to broadcast my work.
If in the UK i am able to travel otherwise i have ways to record a phone line.
