Does anyone know of recordings of these instruments? Thanks to GordonC I got to hear the Keppinger theremin (one of them at least, sounds great) but looking for more audio of different tube theremin designs. The Art's designs (the 126, the 145) caught my attention and I'd love to hear them!

Yes, they are right there on the webpages of Art's website.
125 Tube Theremin (http://home.att.net/~theremin1/125/125.htm)
126 Tube Theremin (http://home.att.net/~theremin1/126/126.htm)
Listening to, and viewing the waveforms of, these theremins shows that the 125 has a purer, sine-wavy sound. The 126 has a higher harmonic content and sounds a little richer.
[edit] I should qualify those statements a bit. That is the impression I get from the sound files. Without knowing exactly how they were recorded, we don't know if there are other components (amps, microphones) that may be coloring the sound, which may be the case with the 126.

My theremin topic page moved a while ago. It is at http://theremin.us/index.htm. The sound samples for various instruments are on their respective sub-pages.

I posted a little demo of the 126 theremin here:
The theremin shown has the "REV 2" volume circuit; the newer "REV 3" has a reversing feature.
