I've just seen the post on the front page, and am obviously very interested in attending! It sounds great, but does anyone have any more info? Is there a programme of events? (How long will it run until?) What's the format of the 'master class'? I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't for the life of me find a topic about this on the forums yet! Thanks :)

Hi Chris,

You'll find more info on Theremin UK News (http://thereminuk-news.blogspot.com/2010/03/event-hands-off-at-ether-2010-london.html).
Lydia will be the opening act, at 1pm, followed by Chris, Alex, myself and the theremin cellists.
After that Lydia will give a short talk and present a masterclass with one or two other thereminists. The exact format is under Lydia's control, but I anticipate it will be like that given at Hands Off 2007.
After this there will be a workshop period where members of the public can have a go at not touching the theremins, assisted by the participants in the theremin circle. Finally the circle will present some semi-improvised music, ending at 6pm.
The reason there is no mention of this on the forum is that it was put together "under the radar" so to speak, and only announced once sufficient details were finalised. I did not invite you to participate in the circle, despite being a London based thereminist, because last year you declined participating in Hands Off 2009 on the grounds that you only wanted to play classical theremin, and the theremin circle will assuredly be avant-garde.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Royal Festival Hall. :-)
