Modifications for B3 - custom case

Have a chance to get a B3.
On their web site, Burns touts the B3 Deluxe as having a longer case (than the B3) with 18" clearance between the antennae.

Can I just build a longer case myself and mount the components from the B3 in it?
Being a woodworker, I have some nice pieces of wood lying around, as well as the tools needed.

Sure you can build a new case for the B3. I built a an entirely new case for my Moog Etherwave Pro (everything but the bent wood maple face) with no problem.

The big question here is, do you really LIKE the B3 or are you just contemplating the purchase because you think you're going to save a couple of bucks.
