Hey lovely peeps... :)

I played maybe 10 secs of Theremin in this piece I am finishing titled "Why we are here".

I know my music is not everyone's taste - but please give it a listen :)

I am happy that I was able to do this! :)

It sounds great Amey! You wisely did not overdo the theremin part which leads one to believe that you have taken Clara Rockmore's admonition, LESS IS MORE, to heart. Your theremin part is tasty, brief, and nicely played. IMHO

One question, what is the line that follows, "We all share the same sun"......?

Thank you Coalport! I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the little part that I played - it was fun and challenging :) Yes, less is more... I totally agree with that :)

To answer your question:

We all share the same sun
Under one religion
Under one nation
We all need love so we can grow
A lot more than you'll ever know
Let's dream of tomorrow

I think I should resing that line...
I know it's hard to hear what other sing - since I wrote the lyrics, it makes total sense to me - but maybe not to others... I shall revisit hmmm,,,,

Not necessary - IMO.

If this was one of those songs where the music is subordinate to the words then I'd agree, but it isn't - I'm hearing your voice firstly as a musical instrument of equal status to the other instruments in the piece and only secondly as a way of conveying meaning.

I would much rather that the meaning of the words seeped in to my brain over repeated listenings than have it grab the majority of my attention every time and divert me from hearing all that luscious music...

A very beautiful song, full of positive feelings. You have a great voice, and I liked the theremin part, too!

Hi Amey,

I heard it right......

"We all share the same sun
Under one religion..."

Which religion is the song referring to?

"Love"...
The universal religion - the very first one everyone should start to live by...
rather than destroying each other!

That kind of religion... :)

Gordon - Thank you so much for the comment and for listening - I am glad you too the time to do that. I am the same way as you, I'd rather have lyrics/meaning of a song to seep in my mind slowly rather than "in your face", which sort of turns me off. I am glad you mentionned this as it's something I have been trying to work on for a while :)

And Al - Yes, positive feelings - which we need in this world at this moment (well, all the time I'd say!)THank you for commenting :)
