I "Girlie" pimped my Theremin :)

Alrighty!
I went to my local craft store and spend a looooong time in there, I found a bunch of stuff that started to make my thinking gear grinding...

I got this amazing stuff. Rhinstone tape. I used that on my volume loop. I hot glued (low temp) some rose bud on the loop as well. I took these pictures with my Itouch and the lighting was tricky, so I applied some filters so some details would show...

THen I found several packages of clothes patches, all with flowers (I am a flower nut!!!) and decided to put them on my theremin as well... Here are the pics, I hope you can see them...

Pretty cool! I'm thinking now you could use dark green audio cables and add some leafs to them to make it look like a vine climbing up your theremin.

I stopped at putting a Barbie doll head on my pitch antenna.

I am pretty sure you will get someone saying you should not pimp out your instrument or that you should keep it in original condition etc. but the key word is "your" so go for it!

Girlie-pimping... love the term and the effect! (Even though I'm more of a steam-punk/tin-foil-hat guy.)

Over the years I have seen dozens of theremins that have been "customized", decorated, and tarted up in every way imaginable to reflect the personality and music of their owners - everything from flying saucers to hearts and flowers, zebras, pussy cats & "fun fur". The earliest customization that I know of was the addition of the specially made "lightning bolt" antennas that Leon Theremin's assistant, Julius Goldberg, had made in 1930 for his Art Deco RCA (http://www.peterpringle.com/goldiepix/electrio.jpg). If you look carefully, you can see that the volume antenna is also modified.

You have to be careful, however, when you start dolling up your antennas that you do not interfere with function. The "lightning bolt" pitch antenna on Goldberg's RCA, although it looks very cool, produces a jagged EM field because it is emanating from an uneven source.
