His blog mentioned that Pamelia was on SNL.

Anybody know when that was?

she was on about 3 years ago. She was sitting in with the SNL band, and played "Sleepwalk" going to a commercial break. And I wondering was Pamelia smoking while playing? It sure looks like it in those pictures, unless it's something she's using to play...

The shot of her feet showed an ashtray on the stage floor!

I was hoping she was on with a musical guest. If she was on with the SNL band then us TV watchers will never get to see it....unless they put musical breaks on the DVDs.

I wonder if they made a big deal out of her theremin?

you only saw her for about 10 seconds as they went to commercial. As far as making a big deal she m.ost of influenced siomeone About a month later one of the skits had someone playing theremin (backstage, not on camera.

Years ago, on the original Jon Stewart talk show, he had a theremin player doing a solo during a commercial cut-in too. The guy's name was Citizen something. He wrote to us a while back, but I couldn't find the note.

I've also seen a yo La Tengo video about rock school, in which there's a brief scene w/ "Theremin 101" on a blackboard and a theremin in the classroom. I'd love to know what song that was and find a link to the video online.

The Yo La Tengo video was for "Sugarcube" and starred Mr. Show's Bob Odenkirk and David Cross (now also of "Arrested Development).

The video can be found on Matador Records' "Everything is Nice" DVD (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000K3TH/wobblymusic-20).

Ooooh -- you can watch it here! (http://www.matadorrecords.com/yo_la_tengo/music.html)

The theremin bit is at 2:22 into it, but watch the whole thing. This could well be the funniest music video ever made.
