Hi all,
Well, I haven't gotten any feedback on Art's 145 theremin here or on theremin.info. It doesn't sound like too many have tried it yet.
This turned out to be a good thing. It gave me a chance to discover the PAiA Theremax. It seems like a pretty highly rated begginer's instrument. More importantly, many more have tackled it and modded it.
I have most of the components sitting around to build the thing. I want to prototype it on a breadboard and play with it a bit. If I like playing with a theremin, I will definately get their kit (I really like the box).
In the mean time, there are a few things I need to find and I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
The 1mH coil... This has me a little "choked" up (sorry). At this website:
http://www.dvanhorn.org/Theremin/TheremaxTips.php
it is mentioned that the res. frequency of the coil should be close to 730 KHz. Does anyone know where I can find a compatible coil? mosuser.com has a 1 mH coil with an SRF of 900 KHz (part number 43LQ103). Would that be good enough?
Thanks,
Ted
