I don't post here very often, so maybe I've missed it, but back in the day, you could include some html in comments. You could also, I think, edit your comment after posting to fix errors. I just added a comment to this article:

http://www.thereminworld.com/Article/14323/bbc-podcasts--witness-the-theremin

but could not successfully do either. I tried a second time using square brackets, since that's how it used to work, but no luck. I see the styling toolbar below this post I'm writing right now, but it wasn't below the comment(s) I posted to the story above.

Hello Jon B,

When you see formatting on a post like red letters or unusual fonts it is done in MS Word and then pasted to the Reply text box which will accept it. Remember TW is controlled by a Microsoft programmer. (-' The only issue using this method is carriage returns end up as 4 line breaks so you have to go back and edit them out.

If you want to add a link make sure the word is at least one space over from the left side. Highlight the word and click the Icon at the bottom of the text box that looks like a single chain link. A little box opens up to paste in the webpage address.

The address you have in your post does not work because it goes to the Front page, I brought this to Jason's attention. It might be a Bug!

RS Theremin -- Please reread the last sentence of my post above. There seems to be a difference between comments posted in these forums and comments posted to articles like that on the front page. There are no icons (that I can see) below the text box there.

Hello Jon B,

Your second post on that page about Leon Theremin almost works. It seems just the url with no formatting on the front page text box may be the method. All the other maybe a direct paste from MS Word might work? You are right that it seems to be a different type of text box than this one with a few edit tools.

Jason is looking into it I am sure. Now that Capcha crap I cant get through, I am just not smart enough.

Yup - this is definitely on my radar to fix.

@RS - Are you still getting the CAPTCHA controls for comments and posts?  You should only see it for your first ~10 posts.  I think I'll probably back that number off a bit and add some text to explain why people are seeing it.

Still, with that in place, we've had some spammers fight their way through it.  There's a fine line between making it hard for spammers and easy for regular members.  I guess we're still working on finding it.

Thanks for the feedback!!
