That front's got quite a curve!  Wouldn't single sheets of music set there tend to cave in?

Purdy coil on the inside, and nice lookin' wood!

Not me as my feet bleed, I have walked the journey to the promise land and realize we all do the best we can. '-)

I wish it behaved as beautifully than its aesthetics!

I do believe I could say the same, Amethyste, Fred...

While the Wavefront is not as easy to play as my Etherwave Pro (Or Plus) due to it actually heterodyning with large coils-- it does sound wonderful.  And to it's credit, the volume antenna gives far better dynamic control than an unmodified EW Pro.

Do you think so, Chris ?

I dont know how much a cabinet like that would cost to get made here - You could take the plan of a RCA to some local cabinet maker and get a quote..

Then a EW with Thierrys mod fitted - You would probably clock in at about the same price as the reserve? - even if you added the cost of some big coils from Charlie (Chobbs) you would probably be quids in compared to buying the Wavefront..

There are quite a lot of "traders" buying large pieces of furniture in Europe (Romania and places like that) and deconstructing these to get quality wood - I have even seen some old-style school desks on sale which are almost perfectly shaped for turning into a theremin housing -

Yes, Fred, I've seen the ol' school desk as a possible target for fitting EW internals etc (yeah, I know you don't like the EW sound), but that Wavefront cabinet finished as it is on its own over here would make a fair bit of money. Also, desks tend to be too low as it about 650 - 700mm to their top section. OK if you play (pray?) on your knees. Add to that how we end up paying the same in the UK as the rest of the world pay in dollars plus the shipping and so I think that Wavefront would make about 800ukp over here minimum! I guess you're not bidding for it then Fred ? LOL.
