Fascinating but not surprising!   

When I bring this subject up about all of these surveillance techniques in place I often hear a response like "I'm not worried...I haven't done anything wrong and don't have anything to hide from the government or anyone else".   I can almost understand that line of thinking for the current government but will it be the same for a power that may be in place 10 or 15 years from now?  Once we have submitted our privacy to the powers to be there is no going back!

I dont think one needs to worry about the future government or any possible nast future agendas - IMO, the threat is here and now..

What upsets me most about the revelations from Snowdon et al, is that all this data has been gathered for "good reasons" - preventing terrorism etc - Yeah! .... In trawling this data though, there MUST be loads of rotten stuff found - Abusive activities affecting the lives of us who are paying for this suvelance, and affecting helpless victims of this abuse - Everything from child porn to spamming is there in this data... And they dont give a shit - its "not their agenda".

So its ok to bug those with a political influence, its ok to spy on commercial activities of competitors, its ok to do what the $uck one wants if its in the interests of the military / financial / industrial complex..

But using this data to clean up the internet, to arrest abusers, to do something that would serve the interests of those "I'm not worried...I haven't done anything wrong and don't have anything to hide from the government or anyone else".  and are actually paying for these activities - dream on!

Its those who are doing whats "right" which have most to worry about - those opposed to ransacking the planet, those who question the safety and 'morality' of companies like Monsanto or GM in general, those who oppose anything that the "system" (and those who take the money from it) doesnt like.

And theres $uck all that these people can do about it - because even with a revolution (like in Egypt) one ends up back at square one or worse - "Hello to the new boss, same as the old boss.."

Such people are to be feared far more than the possibility of drones in your backyard!

I agree....they are more concerned about what their favorite sports gladiators are doing and what they will buy on their next trip to Walmart then what their state and federal pawns are doing.  It is because of them and their fear that we have drones in our backyard.  Also I never meant to imply there isn't any threat now.....I just think that in another decade or so as we get closer to a global government headed by the UN that all this information collected will be used to coerce us into how we think, act, worship, etc.  We are already brainwashed into voting for Republicans or Democrats when both have the same agenda while wearing a different mask.
