Hello Holophrastic,

You are new and I hate when a newbie thread falls off without a response, that seems cold.

There are over seven billion people riding on the Earth, they tell me. Theremin World has less than twenty active members these days. Outside of TW, IMHO, there may only be five people capable of teaching their method of play, as there is no defined proper method. I have been searching for a local musician within thirty minutes of where I live with interest in the theremin for over ten years and as of yet not found one. My backyard is So. California, which is larger than many European countries. I wish you the best of luck in finding what you are looking for…as you say local?

When I meet my local musician he will experience the theremin concept at a level never achieved before as I am the designer but I cannot play on pitch. You never know this post might be the one that gets his attention. (-'

I guess you and I finding what we want is almost one in a billion, that is a fact!

You are so entertaining, how about a high five!!! Most TW members know what this image represents, do you?

Hi Holophrastic, Thanks for the post idea.  Building a registry is tough, finding a good teacher is even harder, we do what we can listing players who've submitted themselves at instructors on our teachers page http://www.thereminworld.com/Theremin-Teachers .  I'm sorry we don't know one yet near you.  To answer you, I'm in New York City, I play and teach the theremin and am always open to sharing it with anyone who's interested.  Again good luck!
