Mystery Theremin on BBC's Holby City 2nd May 2017

So, this was on the BBC yesterday. I don't recognise the theremin - what is it?

It doesn't look like he's really playing it, so maybe it's just a non-functioning studio prop?

[EDIT] Another thing that makes me think it's a studio prop is the control panel.  It looks like it has two jack inputs, making it more likely to be a guitar amp or similar with fake antennae screwed to the sides.  If you zoom up on the panel itself it looks like it's rumpled and not even firmly attached when he walks around back to "play" it (after "tuning" it from the front, LOL):
