While theremin academies are organized on a regular basis on the European continent (Lausanne/CH, Leipzig/DE, Colmar/FR, Lippstadt/DE), the situation was different in the UK up to now: There were big and small "Hands Off" festivals, and the theremin workshops which Lydia organized from time to time in Oxford. Many British thereminists have asked for a more regular event schedule, so Lydia and myself, with the support of the Bate Collection's director, Andrew Lamb, decided to start a fifth Theremin academy every year, in Oxford. The first edition will be held from August 25th to 28th, 2017, including the British bank holiday, so that people don't have to take one more day off.
