Before anyone gets too excited, this is not about the "Loudspeaker 106," but about an interesting little cabinet I acquired this week.

It's a Thompson Mfg cabinet (not to be confused with Thomson-Houston), which I've not been able to find much info on.
Solid wood, no veneer.
In it is the DC version of the 106 speaker, which has no disc rectifiers or 0.1 uF capacitors. The manuals say that the coil has higher impedance than the AC version.

Does anyone have any experience with the DC speaker? The cabinet looks like it's for a slide-in radio, probably a Radiola 44 (that's me guessing) and it needs a minimum of repair.
There are holes in the sides of the cabinet, at the radio level...I'm guessing they might be for tuning access? Ventilation?
