I've been away for a while and didn't realize that this was happening, but I'm glad to see the site is still up.  One just assumes that a resource like this is always going to be around, but I fully understand your position.  Maintaining a website is expensive and time consuming, and the driving passions that start and keep these things alive can and will change over the years.

Thank you for all the effort that you have put into maintaining this site and for giving the heads up so that we can personally archive it while it is still up.  I would hope there could be someone to take it over if that is something you would consider.  It's almost as if the theremin is dying off given the reduced availability of decent commercially available instruments and the cultural changes leading to a reluctance to put in the work need to learn to play.

I do hope that there is a way that the site can be archived for future public access.  I don't know of any other forum that can replace it.

I came late to the theremin party. I've only been playing for a few weeks. But the biggest resource that helped me get where I am was theremin world. If I had known it was around for over 20 years, I probably would have bought a theremin back then and been playing ever since. I'm upset that it took me this long to stumble upon it, and I'm even more upset knowing that it's going to go away.

This forum has been a tremendous resource. It has a supportive community and has given me a place to show progress and have great conversations with professionals and experts, not just in theremins but also in electronics. I have talked on Facebook, Reddit, and Discord, but the most meaningful and knowledgeable conversations happened here.

I have a tech background and have hosted many websites for 25 years, but I just don't have the time to take on a project like this right now. It sounds like Andre might have the bandwidth to help. There has to be a way to keep the forum available or at least freeze it in time so we can retain all the knowledge.

Believe it or not, I trained a custom GPT a few weeks ago using many of the posts from this site so I could ask questions when I need to. If you end up gathering the most important threads and want to share them, I could use them to train the GPT for public use. It has been invaluable in helping me learn how to tune to pitch and figure out my playing style.

I hope the community can figure something out here. No social media platform can replace the value of this forum.
