In response to the original post albiet a bit old.

"How long did it take for the people here to "warm up" to the instrument"
From the first time I heard it as a youth I knew I wanted to make that sound.
Then I saw it played on video and I was fully smitten.
Now I have one and cannot live with any sanity without it.

Let me offer an old quote "buy the best and you'll rarely be dissapointed" I waited a while then the EWPro came out and I knew it was the one I wanted. I doubt I'll ever regret it.

Investing in the volume and pitch preview mod-s also were well worth it.

It's only taken me a few months of regular practise to be able to hum a tune and play it, and to be able to sight-read to a 'comfortable' level - but bear in mind that I'm a tad classically trained!

YMMV

Have fun,

MC.
