Thomas Grillo has done a number of YouTube videos with a Burns B3. That might give you some idea of the sound and capability of that instrument.
There may be better theremins, but probably not at the $200 price level. Particularly for one that you can just buy and play without assembling.
Also the above posts discuss the need for attenuators on some theremins to lower the output level to work with guitar amps and effects. This is not needed with the Burns. The volume knob on the Burns is a conventional volume control, not a volume loop tuner. So you can just roll the knob down to guitar level without having to build, modify, or buy, anything.
