Hi MarkT, after a brief break I have dismantled me theramin and am checking ".. soldering around VR2 and the 2.2K resistor right by it. Is the circuit complete?"
The soldering looks fine and complete.. but I am getting irregular resistance from the resiters.
I found some that reflect their expected value.. there is a row of 1k resitors in the middle of the board and most of them are reading 1k across them.
But one is only reading 0.7k yet it has identical colour bands - is this normal?
When I check that 2.2k resistor near VR2 I get 1.8k so I guess I have put the wrong one in.. but there is no 1.8k on the list..
There is a 1.2k (with frighteningly close-in-colour bands) and when I check that I get 0.76k
So it looks like I have completely miss-read the colours (maybe I am colour blind!)
Does this sound correct?
Should I start un-soldering all of those that dont match exactly or is there some room for variation in these?
Thanks again for your help and advice.
