Hey Philip,

I sent you an email regarding some numerous questions about your Gabriella. I am definitely going to pursue building this theremin, as the tone is just so beautiful!

I subscribed to Levnet already and hopefully will post later this afternoon. If you have some high-res shots of the underside of your chassis, that will definitely help me when I get some chassis to put it together!

Thanks SO very much for the help!

Thanks Philip! I already joined and I also posted on Levnet. We'll see what turns up! Who knows, we might have some transformers that could work at the AHRS "clubhouse!" I am very excited about this project and maybe in a few months after I get it done I can be playing at church! Our church organist was excited to hear I was planning on constructing a theremin. I will keep everyone updated on this!

Get an Etherwave then so you can be practicing concurrently with your construction. As you may have heard, these things aren't the easiest to master...

Unfortunately for me, it looks like I only have almost enough money to build a theremin. I'll be asking around locally for some parts since this theremin and radios have a lot of parts in common. I also have a machinist friend that might could make a rod and loop for me. I don't have near enough cash for a Etherwave, though. I have a fair ear and have played the accordion for 11 years now. But I know the theremin is a difficult instrument to master!

Thats okay!

I had two more guys asking about Keppingers today via email. I referred them to the Yahoo Group I started today. So we should have us a merry little band of foolish people playing around with soldering irons.

Frankly, your previous experience with electronics is going to be a BIG plus building this thing. I just posted a LOT of photos of the the chassis undersides on Flickr and linked them to the Yahoo site, so there is plenty of information to be had.

Try to make your's special in some way and don't just throw it together.

Philip
