A comment about Barbara Buchholz's playing stance.

That's not all that surprising. Most women have a different weigh distribution, therefore a lower center of gravity, than most men. There's an old trick where a woman can pick up a chair while leaning over with her head against the wall while a man can't.
It would also be a little more practical for a thinner, fit young person than for we middle-aged desk jockeys that are packing a few extra pounds.
It is certainly a very dynamic pose and clearly works well for Barabara Buchholz.
