oh so i wanted to add - this is a great device for more novice sort of players (such as myself), but for some reason even on expert mode, rockband does not seem to be quite sensitive enough... so like you can play on expert mode and get a great score, even though to your ears a lot of the notes are sour. maybe it is because i am using like a tiny pocket amp to drive the rockband microphone which could be fooling the game with unwanted harmonics or distortion...? i moved recently and haven't had a chance to try a "good amp" on the game yet.
i find this to be a bit strange, since, singing-wise, it seems to be fairly accurate. shrug.
PS for anybody with a indie developer's xbox membership, you can actually upload your OWN material and try it out with your theremin in rockband 2, assuming that you went through the trouble to actually chart it first...
