Private Messaging is almost ready to enable for everyone.  One big question though...  I don't have "blocking" enabled yet.  Is it critical to you to have the ability to block specific users from sending you messages before I enable the feature?

I have a major mood disorder so it might be wise to protect me from me! (-'

I have a very bad habit of telling people the truth about their intonation when they play the theremin. This upsets a lot of people who subscribe to the "I'm O.K., you're O.K." philosophy. I'm from the "I'm O.K., you're fucked up!" school of thought.

It might be a good idea to block EVERYONE from me.....or ME from everyone.

No? I do want your opinion! Don't block me or I'll be all tears :( :( :(

Besides, someone has to give you a little run for your money ;)

I don't think blocking is an issue. If someone doesn't want to read a message she/he only has to discard it! Just like emails.

Besides, if someone wants to start a verbal war of words it:- a) keeps personal spats off the main forums to bore the rest of us normal people (actually, I've decided no-one is normal liking these things), b) it saves airing dirty washing in public for outsiders/site visitors to read and think it's not the forum for them, & c) as Roguewave says; you can ignore them if you want to!

Private messaging should prove to be a good thing as comedians need an audience. I always think of myself and my buddy as Cheech and Chong, you guess who is who.

Then there are the likes of:

Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis
Abbott & Costello
Chris Farley & David Spade
Will Ferrell & John C. Reilly
Steve Martin & Dan Aykroyd

Christopher

I hope this does not go up in smoke!

Blocking for PMs isn't a critical need IMO.

A general blocking feature to hide all the posts of someone driving you nuts might be handy, but not necessary.  Piano World has this and I've used it all of once.

Yeah !  Lets have that !! ;-)

Then people who dont like my posts can just block me, not see what I say.. And I would be free to post without fear of being "stalked" and without guilt about going over anyones head.. I could just tell them that if they dont like my postings they dont need to even see them!

Also, Must admit that not being able to see postings from a couple of people would help keep my blood pressure down..
