Here comes the show. 

This sound is interesting. I would like to offer a small fragment of Sen-Saens' composition in lower register using my module for EWS ... The waveform is interesting, but I did not record it on video. Does it look like a double bass or a cello?

For those who don't have the leisure time to watch the video  here is an explanatory picture. Please note that. after rectification, the envelope signal is not the audio output set with the WAVEFORM and BRIGHTNESS controls.

I say it explicitly because the timbre without the post production could be sound a bit boring in musically trained ears.

Valery, thank you for posting the sound sample of Etherwave with your mod add. I will analyse it soon and give an answer here.  Dreadvox, I also be happy with the violine like wooden box. Dominik, Dewster, ILYA, Thierry and all interested: my cheats will not be surprisingly for the active guys here. And I won't waste time doing things have already done or in case of Moog not done jobs.    

JPascal: so the first half of the video is an unmodified EW, and the second half lowers the coupling and corrects an offset?

The second half sounds very much like a male voice, with aaahh-ooooo-aaahh vowels.

The above audio file is part of a video track captured on a smartphone, so room acoustics are added to the main waveform. I would like to offer you another video shot under the same conditions. This is Massenet's "Elegy". In this video, the Wave and Brightness settings are slightly changed.

   The audio file contains a fragment of the composition "The Elephants" from the suite of C. Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals". The most famous composition from this suite is "The Swan". "The Elephants" are written for the double bass part. The sheet music is available on the Internet.

Below are "the dry" waveforms for the low and high pitch ranges.

Very good, Valery. It is good seen, that my proposition about the buffering is right: 

JPascal: "In case of decoupling with buffers you have similar time signals and overtone behavior whatever pitch range is choosen. Only the low pass effects at higher notes occure.

What about opening an own thread for your interesting development? There's a lot to discuss further more. 

     I am not against this proposal. We can try it. I am more of a practitioner, not a theorist. For me, sometimes it's easier to collect something than to subject it to long calculations and analysis. And for me, the main indicator is ears ...
    The Strings are characterized by a fast attack, which is difficult to implement on the theremin. This loses the feel of the instrument's timbre. Good technique is needed. But I am often asked the question: "Does the theremin need this? It should sound its own way ..."
