While over driven guitar distortion is a natural for this device, it also can produce violin like, horn like and vocal like tones. It also is perfect for crisp attack and decays, yet fine tuning the volume hand can yield a lot of tonal variety on the attack side. Drawback is there is no blend or unprocessed out so either you get the theremin or the box.
You had best learn the patches and what works, because sometimes you change the setting and get nothing - each patch has a variety of settings to vary your options during play.
