This guy used rats to score a film with a theremin.

Well, it is obvious that we cannot compete with such luminaries, after all, they are faster and more precise than any of us.

Anyone got a cheap banjo they could sell me?

The triangular rat tank and the pitch-to-volume head-to-tail arrangement of the three Theremins is pretty neat as it allows closeness to the rats yet gives maximum distance between similarly tuned resonant elements (for 3 elements).  But they're still pretty close - I wonder if the Theremin fields were interacting with each other at any point?  A bit of C padding and retuning could probably minimize that.
