That is clear due to the groundig issue if batteries driven amps are used. I was suprised that a simple camping equipment solved the problems very well. At my last outdoor gig a single tent peg was enough.

Tomorrow I'm going to play at 10 degrees below zero :-D I'll hammer a long nail into the snow. :-D

Any sidewalk performance videos of theremin playing yet?

Is that even possible?
While the theremin is a highly "coreographic" instrument which would look great for busking, it's so sensitive to the surroundings that I can't imagine playing in the middle of people, dogs, birds, passing cars and buses... are people doing it successfully?

I,ve done it in downtown Pittsburgh with a stainless steel mesh insole in my shoe attached with speaker wire to the amplifier ground screw.  I didn't have a issue with anyone or anything entering the pitch field.  The problem is staying on pitch with all the street noise and other distractions like keeping an eye on the donation can. There is also the issue of possible harassment from security guards and police who have little or no knowledge of busking laws in your city. Always be respectful of where you set up so as not to cause a disruption to customer traffic around businesses.

I want to try to fuse jugging and theremin.  I want to keep it musical  yet rhythmic....I was a stick juggler at over 60 Dead shows and many festivals.  Wish I would have had a theremin back then...

I play my theremin in a park nearby from time to time. For grounding, I use a fish tank grounding probe which I push into the earth. Works well enough. I've not tried busking or playing anywhere lots of people were milling around

I have a similar grounding probe as well. It is ideal if you are anywhere near a patch of grass or flower bed.
