From Diggy Dog 10/24/2020: Well, I found a 20% discount code for Prymaxe.  It is BOO20.  It didnt work when I tried to order but a friendly customer service  rep helped my via chat and I got the theremin and the stand for $1,399.00.

Unfortunately, I just received a message from Prymaxe customer service that they will not offer this deal to additional buyer(s). Oh, well....

Moog Inc. requires you to open the EW up (no "NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSDE!" sticker) and positively hands you an IF transformer alignment tool - if that's not knee deep in wonky geek territory then I don't know what is!  Thereminist asking highly technical questions about a new product is just par for the course.  If you potted it in plastic they'd ask what you're trying to hide - and what kind of plastic you used.

The only published inside information seems to be that Moog joke.

Nice to see the Series 91 A, B, and C represented in that poster! What's that on the roof though? I'm wishfully thinking this is a hint at a new full cabinet model!

If quantize works in analog mode, then they're either not using the heterodyned result to directly produce audio (cue the "that's not a real Theremin" crowd, and they do have an argument to make), or they're generating / controlling the local oscillator (probably digitally) based on what the variable oscillator is doing (or perhaps the heterodyned result).  If it's the former then the axis => sound source datapath is probably more like the Theremini (nothing really wrong with that IMO if done right) but then the marketing guys would be out of sync.

It never occurred to me to vary the local oscillator in order to improve linearity (and other fancy stuff) but I'm not obsessed about heterodyned audio either.
