Dominik, have you done some investigations in wind instrument sound for theremin? Then would be a dynamic manner for noise mixing necessary. 

Yes, a nice extra VCA for noise is in development, not sure yet if it will do. But my goal is not imitating specific instruments. I like the idea of a somehow expressive voice/timbre with a theremin in combi with individual envelopes shaped by subtle imagination. Which may remind of a wind instrument

I confirm with the intention that a theremin is not made to copy a classical instrument or a voice timbre. A real cello has so much more skills as a theremin could ever have, a voice too. The question is what unique things make theremin so amazing.

I enjoy to hear about your new VCA noise tool, have some circuit fragments/ideas in this direction on my experimentation table as well. Similar to velocity/acceleration of volume, some intuitively usable intrinsic functions are conceivable.

One out of the most recent batch of Subscope Voicematic anniversary version Theremins got delivered at my doorstep last friday, and I'm loving it more and more. I'm more then happy that due to the delays and then the first real life stories about the Moog Claravox tricklig in I could cancel my order at Thomann, and decided to get in touch with Dominik.

No more frustrations trying to communicate with Moog tech support, I've had my share of that around the Theremini, which was terribly frustrating and ended up with myself finding/pinpointing the actual problem which the tech center licenced by Moog in Europe were unable to detect withi days of getting it back after over 2 months. A few months ago it seriously malfunctioned, one thing I didn't try yet is a factory reset.

But for now happily exploring and familiarising myself with the Subscope, the pitch field geometry with the angled probably also combined with the wider pitch range compared to the Etherwave Plus was initially throwing me off sometimes. Tilting the pitch antenna slightly to the side where I'm standing gets it to the point where vertical movement of the pitch hand has not so much impact, as long as I stay withing a certain path between collarbone and pitch antenna. A new chapter in my theremin journey has begun.

This has been the first time I had a musical instrument built to order for me, and it's a very nice experience. And especially compared with the Claravox, actually relatively budget friendly, for approximately the same budget I had initially planned for the Claravox plus stand, I could now get a superb sounding and very transportable fully analog theremin (I couldn't believe how light weight it is, and its form factor easily fits in a small urban backpack), a good ' acoustic' amplifier and a EHX Stereo Talking Machine.

I really like the early Bob Moogs housings (guess made by Bobs father). There is a Grundig tube radio which always reminded me of those. Here we go.

I like this puristic scandinavian design too. (The original tube audio amp within this Grundig radio could be also suitable for theremin.)
