Professional Tube Theremin - Pegna Model Satie

I ordered a Satie II several years ago from Mr. Pegna and he was happy to take my money.

Email after email it was one excuse after another. there was always a delay. First he was waiting on power supplies. Next it was a bad batch of coils, tubes, etc. This went on for a couple of years. Then he stopped communicating with me.

It was then I located someone in Sardinia with his last name that was a college professor. I'm guessing it was a close relative. I wrote to him asking if he were related, told my story and that it had been two years since I ordered a theremin from Mr. Pegna. I didn't get a reply, but quickly received an email from Mr. Pegna saying he was giving me a partial refund by paypal. It was about half of what I paid but he said it was all he could do at the time and that he would get me the rest as soon as he could.

I never received the other part of the refund and never received the theremin ordered, either. And that, too has been a few years ago.

So, good luck to you dealing with Mr. Pegna.

My experience with "dealing with Mr Pegna" is the exact opposite of yours! I've ordered through his facebook page a "satie 2" 3 or 4 years ago. And yes, it took him  3 to 4 months to build it, but he let me choose the appearance of the theremin. I received it in Paris in a case without paying anything in advance. I paid the announced price by paypal -with no charge for delivery- once I had tried the full features and playability of it.

Since then, I've never had any trouble with it, playing it in several gigs in a rock band. It is a reliable machine, even though I use it for sound effects more than for playing tunes... And this is not due to the playabilty of the machine, but to my laziness!
