Matt Gunn, who is Matty Toffee of Toffeetronic (http://www.myspace.com/toffeetronic) on Toffeetones (http://toffeetones.toffeetronic.co.uk/), is Gunn of Gordon and Gunn. I am not, however, Gordon of Gordon and Gunn. Louis Gordon (http://www.myspace.com/elbummo), who is also on Toffeetones but not in Toffeetronic, is Gordon of Gordon and Gunn.

And after that I need a drink (http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ViewWork?cgroupid=999999961&workid=5182&searchid=9343&tabview=video&index=1).

One lucky member of the audience will win a Moog Etherwave Theremin.

I believe the reference is to the song Drive It Like You Stole It by The ASBO Kid off the album The Death Cult Sessions. (Hear it on Last FM (http://www.last.fm/music/THE+ASBO+KID).) They probably would not appeal to Céline Dion fans.

Or it might be this skit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WFsIskJ05I) on youTube.

I rather like The ASBO Kid, so here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBjIxoSa19Y) is a video I rustled up to accompany one of their other songs off the same album. Warning - it has a rude word in it.

(An ASBO - Anti-Social Behaviour Order - is an award presented by British courts to young people for excellence in the fields of joyriding and suchlike.)

I'll be here (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=B4100%2FHigh+Street+Bordesley&sll=52.474024,-1.888189&sspn=0.006483,0.038624&dirflg=w&ie=UTF8&ll=52.474129,-1.881773&spn=0,359.972534&z=16&iwloc=addr&layer=c&cbll=52.474058,-1.881668&panoid=nD_o4O3mb-ntPQ3ofupxrg&cbp=12,357.5516206197631,,0,-8.539062500000002) tomorrow evening, potentially playing for literally dozens of people.

Scary fun.

Especially as the local unusual music online radio thingy Phantom Circuit (http://phantomcircuit.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/phantom-circuit-16/) gave me a very nice build-up, playing a couple of Beat Frequency pieces, in between Fay Lovsky and Phew for the first, and between Michael Nyman and Führs & Fröhling for the second. That's some distinguished company, and a daunting thing to live up to.
