simspons theremin sighting

on the simspons today i heard a theremin playing. it was right inbetween the intro song and the episode. the earth was being overun by couches and furniture and there was creapy music. although the theremin did not sound like a real theremin, mabey a Tanerin?
did anybody see this? does anybody know if it was a real theremin?

They often have theremins or theremin-lie sounds on their Halloween episodes.

Once they had a seen in the attic and there was a theremin playing on the soundtrack when Homer said "Somebody's playing my theremin!" Then they panned over to one of the characters playing an old RCA-style theremin.

To ansswer (or not) your initial question, I don't know if they sed a real theremin or not.

just this evening (11:30) i caught the begining of a simpsons episode where the school was runing out of speakers for career days, so they hired a creator of a cartoon. the cartoon he showed the students ended up being very vulgar and the kids loved him. durring the short cartoon there was theremin "music".
i did not catch any more of this episode.
has anyone else seen this particular episode?

It seems that somebody involved with the show is a theremin fan.

Yeah. Homer owns an old RCA style theremin - but it has only a brief cameo role.

Seeing how Groening seems to be struggling for new ideas, I might write to suggest that the theremin be used as the basis for a subplot or something. :)

Thats a great idea, it would be soo awsome if they had a theremin based Simpsons episode.
