i have seen the theremin in action a few times most recently on bill bailly. I have been trying to track its name down and today i found it! and i found this great site.

I was wondering if there is any way to make a theremin from scratch???

Yes, there are plenty of ways of building your own theremin. The usual advice is to build your first one from a kit.
