One aerial or two? What the difference?

Can any1 help me!

whats the difference between the ones on Ebay with one aerial and the ones Moog make with two. I am not looking to make amazing music with it so do i need the very expensive one?

Help? ASAP please!

The difference is one antenna....the VOLUME antenna. (Well, that's the major difference.)

There will be differences in linearity, which affects playability, but more so for precision playing. There will also be a difference in the choice of timbres, which is more important for music making than for other uses that may be more effects driven.

If all you want to do is make sound FX and noise (which is not a derogatory term in the right context) and aren't concerned about subtle control of attack/decay and volume, a pitch only (single antenna) theremin will be just fine. You can always control on/off/volume levels with a volume pedal if you desire.

So, to answer your question, "Do I need the very expensive one?"....the answer is no.

Maybe when I have a bit more money I'll go for precision playing but until then let the noise commence!
