Well you kinda missed Hands Off 2007 - that was in Bushey in September last. There will most likely be another, but I haven't decided when, yet. Certainly not this year.

There is, however, one in Lippstadt, Germany this September.

O-ou, the Spanish festival was last summer! Can't remember what year we are living at the moment.. ;)

The festival Lippstadt sounds nice! But I think I can't make it either, I'm just coming back from Portugal at the end of August..

...I see, Hands Off must have been great; packed with interesting people. Very well done to however put it together, sounds like it was you...I did not know about it, I have been off the Theremin for quite sometime; then a while ago during one of my trips back to italy I stumbled into a kit in my brothers loft...and there you are, it all started again...

In fact I read that a chap called Jake was speaking at Hands Off, I remember meeting him quite a few years ago when he had just started putting together a circuit for the musical ether machine...and I have memories of a Beach Boys tribute reunion in west london where his designed theremin and a common friend, Simon, where the stars of the good vibrations moment.

Very unfortunate I have missed it. Also Bushey is pretty much round the corner from me...ah!
I dont think I'll make germany, but who knows...I'll probably make the finnish one as I should be there during that period, but that isnt exactly the same thing,as you probably already know...but I would like to see Lydia playing.

Well, Oron_01, you know that Lydia K is currently ensconced in the Oxford area? She does occasionally play a local gig - last month she played in London as part of a celebration of Russian Cinema - so there is certainly hope. (It also means that if you want tuition from her it's worth enquiring...)


Also, if you check theremin.org.uk (http://theremin.org.uk) you'll see that Pamelia Kurstin has a London gig coming up with Barbez, and a solo gig in Bath. She's well worth seeing too, IMO.

....how very interesting that is....Lydia K lurking around oxfordshire...oh! well, then there is hope indeed!....so is it really the case of stumbling into her playing a local pub?! full of unaware lager consumers....I knew she was gonna be playing at the russian cinema event; was is it good? with my luck I had to be abroad during that period...and tuition from her would be quite an experience I would assume, thank you for the tip.

Uh, I think Lydia usually does high end gigs - you know, with an orchestra and all that. Mind you, if Messer Chupps ever go on a world tour... The cinema gig was great - really old-style experimental electronica with a measure of free jazz. Lydia called it "funny music" and then remembered I like that sort of thing.

Pamelia is an extraordinary person. Such a profound disjoint between the amazing sounds she make with her hands and the sounds she makes with her mouth - giggle, giggle, "poopies", giggle, giggle. I'm hoping to be at the Vortex for the Barbez gig - I haven't seen Barbez before. Maybe I'll see you there? I'm not planning on taking the trip to Bath - I've seen her play solo and with a free jazz trio several times, so I'm content to wait until she comes within easy travelling distance again.

I have never met her and I am only creating an idea from photographs and previous experiences with the easter european species. I hope it didnt bother you too much...if you what I mean.

yes, I have picked up a certain idea about Pamelia, from reading about her and strangely enough pretty much in the same line...some sort of volcanic character, with out of control eruptions...some of them interesting other slightly regrettable.

...I disagree on the subject of knowledge and lack of social outing...having said that there is an argument for some fresh air at times! but I am one of those too; makes for two pigeons with one stone; get out [vortex] and also still feeding the thing by feeling the field of yet another theremin!...so yes, I might see you there then, I'll let you know if I am going; the only reason I would not be going is if I have to be out of the country for work, but this time does not look like it. so I might get lucky!

....speaking of getting out, time for me to get out of the office!!
