Hi all,

I am from Italy and I'm going to buy a Moog Etherwave.
For people who does not live in America the only option is ordering it at moogmusic site for a price of 399$ + shipping (about 50$ more for Italy).
For people who lives in America instead there is a cheaper way: zzounds.com is selling etherwave theremin for a price of 349$ and free shipping.

I have a friend in America who is coming to Italy on may, so I thoungh maybe he could do me a favor buing it at zzounds.com so that I can save at least 100$.

Now the problem is the power supply. I think zzounds.com sells just 110V etherwave, instead in moogmusic site you can choose the 110V version or the 220V version (for 20$ more naturally!!).

The question is (to all european etherwave owners) Is there a way to make the etherwave work even with 220V current? Can I buy a transformer apart somewhere here in Italy?

Thank you!

Mike

MikeO - zZounds states on the Moog Etherwave page that both a 110 volt and 220 volt adapter are available. However, they do not say if the 220 volt adapter can simply be substituted or if there is an extra charge involved.
You should ask your friend to give them a call for you. I'd do it myself but it's too late this evening.

You could probably get one for much less on the UK Ebay, but check for Global Shipping first. That's probably where I'm gonna get mine (UK):

You can check mine. It is absolutely new, and with less than 10 hours use. No scratches or anything. If you order from outside US you are going to pay custom fees, dont forget. Check mine, here:

Mpaporous, it still be cheaper for him/her to buy a new theremin for $399 (the highest estimate) than spend $450 on yours.

I don't want to upset you, but your asking price is far too high. People can buy theremins new for less, and be assured of quality as well. How much did you pay for your theremin in the first place, Mpaporous?

Finally I got the Etherwave and I payed it 240 Eurs.

The power supply was 110V but I managed to build a 220 to 14 vold transformer and it works just fine!

I am happy now! ^_^
