Maestro Theremin repair?

Hi,

I have one of these missing the arms. I've seen the pics on the Moog site but does anyone actually have one of these? My friend offered to make some for me but I need a better understanding of their construction/layout if possible.

Thanks for the reply,

Brandon

Do you mean these pics?

Yes, those are the pics I'd seen. My friend wants to make sure they'll function properly if he is putting the time into making them. Are they solid? Hollowed-out?

Hmm. I recall someone asking about maestro antennas before, but can't find the thread. The pipe looks hollow in the pictures to me.

I know Jason is a former maestro owner, he's a busy guy - if he doesn't spot this (Hi Jason!) you could email him. See the "Contact Us" link above.

Also I think Robert Wheeler of Pere Ubu uses (used?) one. (Can anyone confirm?) If no-one else responds you could try asking him.

Scratch that bit about Robert Wheeler. I checked on Ubu's website and it's home-made.

Robert got a "B" on his handmade theremin in electronic school because he couldn't play America the Beautiful. "It's not a musical instrument," said the teacher. It took months to learn how to tune and work it, considering he'd never seen one before.
