Ice Theremin

I saw a movie of one of these a few years ago. I think it came out of the MIT Media Lab...but it seems as if it has since been released to the aether of the internets.

Does anybody have any links or ideas for designs?

I really don't see how the word "theremin" applies to this thing, but it is undeniably [i]cool[/i].
