Sigh... From an article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06012/636536.stm):

We can say for sure that a Russian came up with the theremin, an early electronic instrument invented by, coincidentally, a man named Leon Theremin. The eerie-sounding device was used by Brian Wilson in the Beach Boys' classic "Good Vibrations," though some swear it was a tannerin.

Concidentally, the Ford car was also invented by a man named Henry Ford.

Lets be honest Jason, do we REALLY want world thereminization to take place ? I for one love the fact im the only person i know with a theremin (well, my friend Damo has one but he only pretends he's a police car).
Its selfish i know, but how can the world understand this instrument that none of us really understand either.
long live the theremin, but only amongst us haha :)

I wouldn't worry about not feeling special any more. Most everyone knows about the pipe organ but I'm still alone among my friends as one who played it.

Finally hearing of professional theremin activity in Mexico gave me great hope for this.
The better known the instrument is, the less chance it will totally disappear. And many think it would have disappeared here in the US if it were not for Moog.

I say keep up the Global Therevangilisim!

Theremin World, take pity on me. I suppose it's funny to publish incorrect statements as fact in a newspaper? Maybe I need to stop reading the comics and starting reading more USA Today :)

In my experience it's not so much funny as a commonplace, everyday event.

I'll tell you what would be funny, if Brian Wilson and the gang decided to remake Good Vibrations and employed a guest thereminist rather than using his Tannerin.
