I purchased this off eBay within the past few months only to have it arrive non-functional (missing the pedestals to control pitch/volume). Has anyone repaired or tried repairing one of these? The seller was a jerk so I'm S.O.L. as far as returning it but I don't know what I can do with it.

Different guy...my guy could've at least told me the LED wasn't even lighting up...I guess I'll try one of the keyboard repair shops around Detroit?

To further elaborate...
I'm a big fan of Maestro products which is why I purchased their Theremin...I'm far from a Theremin specialist/performer...
I'd like this to be a functional part of my Maestro/studio collection but if it can't be saved I'm tempted to drop it to the pawn shop...
I'd hate to, but I have little space in my studio and if something doesn't work (and can't be repaired) it gets shown the door.

If it's any help there's pretty good pictures of the antenna plates with measurements here: http://moogarchives.com/maestro.htm. Also circuit diagrams.

I was giving the benefit of the doubt, Alex. I haven't seen every theremin built, and I haven't heard of the music company Maestro. I found the above link whilst looking for it.

One more thing... The antennae for this thing should not be too hard to make. They are basically metal squares set at an angle.
In fact, almost any metal object would probably work. Maybe you could find a couple of old hood ornaments and stick them on there.
Bowling trophies would be fun, too.
