Found an old theremin, what plug does it use?

It's a BigBriar Etherwave Theremin, serial number lower than 2500. It was given to me by an old teacher, supposedly given to her as a gift by Dr. Theremin himself.

It uses a standard audio out, but I have no idea what power cord it uses. It's NOT the three-prong cord. It's got what appear to be five little slits arranged vertically in a semicircle around the plug itself, I can take pics if necessary.

Does anyone know what kind of power cord this theremin takes? I'd love to play it, if it still works.

Is it possible that you take a picture and publish it on the web, so that me may see better how we could help you?

1. The Big Briar Etherwave was not introduced until after Theremin's death. More likely, your teacher was thinking of Dr. Moog.

2. The Etherwaves have always used the same, rather odd, power chords. They still use them. If you contact Moog Music (http://www.moogmusic.com), they'll be happy to sell you a replacement cord.

Here's the plug on it: http://i30.tinypic.com/24w7e3m.jpg

The others appear to be 3-pin.

So what you need is either the original transformer from Moog or you buy one which is able to deliver 14V AC and 200 mA. The wiring of the plug is drawn in this document:

Just to clarify, for power cords and adaptors, see Moog.

For power chords, try a pitch shifter such as the Boss PS2. They may be rather odd, but they sound great, especially with a bit of distortion.
