Hey TW Gang,

It's unbelievably disappointing to me, and probably many TW members,
to be unable to attend the Moog EtherFest.

I just wanted to
plea, sponge, nickel up, entreat, implore, freeload,
panhandle, importune, beg, petition, beseech, supplicate,
solicit, mooch, hustle, tap
and ask...
our members who are going to post their experiences here on TW.

I really am thinking of all of you who I know will be there, I wish I could meet you,
and hear you play. It's going to be such a great event and it's wonderful it came together so well.

I think it'd be swell to hear as much as you can stand to type and share.
The folks at HandsOff UK really made it come to life remotely here,
and if you don't mind,
I'd love to live vicariously through you Moog 2008 attendees too.

many, *many* thanks,
safe travels
and have a blast!
~ John

I am taking my Canon 20D with a 4 Gig card and I intend to be shooting pix like crazy when I am not doing something else. I shot 600 of the lunar eclipse in February.

I second those pleas, quite vigorously.

Hoping for some new YouTube videos of performances and such as well, if possible. :)

I'll get to next year's EtherMusicFest by hook or by crook. (Preferably by hook.)

I tell you, I have been feverishly, and I do mean FEVERISHLY, installing this thing in the cabinet over the past week and a half to get it ready for Etherfest. I had to replace all the front panel controls as they wouldn't make it past the wood for the knobs to attach. The pitch control is a pure jury rig at the moment. The only playing I have been doing is associated with tuning. I have burns on my left knuckles from adjusting the trimmers on the top chassis, which are accessed via holes in the shelf the chassis sits on, right above the power supply/audio amp chassis. The bottom chassis with its sizzling hot tubes is right below. Its a tight fit....see where this is going???? Twist, OUCH! Twist, OUCH! Twist, OUCH! The blisters will probably still be visible tomorrow when I am in Asheville.

The tuning is still not where I would like it, but its good enough for now. I've been running on about 4 hours sleep a night for about 4 days. So in a nutshell, NO TIME FOR PIX of me playing!!!

Go to the construction forum and there are links to photos of it, albeit sans me.

Philip,
I'm so glad you and your new instrument are going to make it to EtherFest.
It's been quite an adventure to see your process with it, and it sure has paid off.
Best of luck and hope the aether gremlins are far away when you get there.
Skål Gabby!
