did you solve the over-sensitive pitch-nulling?
If so please tell me about it.

furthermore, i had to turn in the l-4 osc. half a turn more in order to make the volume tuning possible with L-3.

I can't remember all the twiddling I did with my L1 and L4 coils, but 1/2 a turn more doesn't seem too drastic. There could be a tolerance issue with a resistor in either the reference or the variable occillator circuit... good luck troubleshooting that one. My worst problem is that the specified operating frequencies for the circuits are also the heaviest-populated AM bands in my vicinity, yet the full range of the coils seem to be tiny.
