Radio Interference!

Hey, I just finished puppting together a Theremax and after fixing a mix up with some resistors it works great - as a radio. I live near a radio tower and have had trouble with other audio equipment before (Wah-wah pedals love the spanish station for some reason) but nothing like this. Is there any way to sheild the Theremax circuit to buffer out all of this radio noise that any knows of?

Try adjusting all the tuning coils to a higher frequency to see if that helps. I had a similar problem with mine years ago - at certain pitch points, I'd pick up local radio channels.

I tried retuning the oscilators but there is still radio interference across the coils range. I put the kit together in my workshop across town and it wasn't a problem at all. I guess my appartment is just too close to the radio transmitter to use the theremin. It's still a great controller for my Mini-Synth though.

Q: What happens, when the theremin does not correctly work?
A: It is not a trouble for me because i like to listen a radio.

The exotic decision: locate the musician with his instrument, together, into a metal cell (shield), and connect the cell with the "common" net of the theremin.

Will they let you take a thermin to the Federal Pen?

I don't know if incarceration would be worth it.

I'm going to try replacing the wall wart with a small transformer so that I can use a 3 prong plug. Maybe an earth ground will help kill some of the radio noise.

Or I'll just wrap myself in foil.
