Hello. 3 weeks ago I was constructed kit of theremin Jaycar and is that one has died to me suddenly.
Being ignited it approaches to fit the pitch antenna, I touched it and theremin was speechless.
I regulated a little at this moment the oscillating and listening to uncontrolled noises until when moving the circuit, (I was clumsy), the volume antenna touches the PCB accidentally, it was speechless completely.
Somebody that knows more electronics than I it could help me and say that it has been possible to break? I have changed all the integrated circuits and transistor BC548 but everything follows equal.

Note: The previous day, while playing, the volume of the sound lowered to half and and at few minutes returned to increase suddenly, as if there was something in false contact or an intermittent transistor or a divided resistance.
The oscillating with regulator say in telkron shop that they do not exist in the market. I talk about to 2nd IF coils (DSE L0260 white) (T1-T3) coil 3rd IF (DSE L0260 black) (T4)

First of all you must to check (or replace without checking!) the Q2 (2N5484) as most vulnerable from a static electricity.

Hi!

I had the same problem; changing Q2 solved the problem for me.
I still have some transistors left, I can send you a couple if you want. Contact me at michelangelo79NONONOSPAM@gmail.com
Naturally you have to cut off NONONOSPAM :)

today I have found a store that sells these transistors.
it is in Valencia but me they envian them by a transport agency.

if I have some problem I will contact to you.

another question:
you know where to find the variable oscillating (IF COILS) of jaycar theremin?

these components do not exist here.

very been thankful.

Not yet my transistors have arrived but no longer they are urgent to me.
I bought theremin MOOG etherwave on yesterday and I already can play.
I like much my new theremin but I will not leave my little Jaycar and when they arrive to me the transistors I will repair it.
It is good to play like a doublebass.
